We received a message from our contractor telling us to put our kitchen and toilet stuff plus fans and lightings in our unit so that they can start fixing up this week. So last Saturday (very last minute I know but thank god we already did our research), we dragged my parents along for our buying adventure cos we needed the car, for easy transportation of cos.
Our shopping list looks like this;
- 5 Fans (2 for hall and 3 more, 1 for each bedroom)
- Sink
- Kitchen Lights
- Hob, Hood & Oven
- Cabinets for both toilets
- Shelving for my radio counter in the kitchen
First, we attacked Hoe Kee Hardware Pte Ltd at Tanjong Katong Complex (cos my mum was an ex-employee there and she said the boss can give discount so ape lagi!) with a mission to purchase ceiling fans for all rooms and also lighting for the kitchen. We had our eyes of this model;
Source: Fanco
Comes with 3 speeds; High/Med/Low and the distribution of air is very good, comes with 3 interchanging lights (white, yellow and mixed) but Yan found it to be a bit noisy(?) like you can hear whirring sounds. We voiced our concerns and the CSO recommended a model from Crestar, which is a recognised brand.

Love the bright LED lights but even though the fan is running on high speed, the air distribution is poor. You can only feel the air when you stand underneath it. That's a no no for us. Nice design, bright lights but due to weak air distribution, we declined.
So we settled for Fanco fans and got them at $30 off a piece cos we bought 5 pieces in total.
