Fluff.ed!

I was finally F.luff-ed by the cupcakes from the oh-so-famous F.luff B.akery.

I was actually very excited to finally get my hands on them as I have been wanting to try them since they launched and seeing their uploads every on IG makes the wanting turn too yearning. Haha! That bad ey. I am not really a fan of cakes or sweets la honestly and the only time I eat cakes is on someone's birthday, if not, I will not see cakes as something I need to eat. The reason I wanted to try the cupcakes from FB is because, everyone is buying and eating and complimenting the cupcakes that I NEED to try them to know what the buzz is all about and I want to be on the "I've tried FB's cupcakes nannynannypoopoo" bandwagon hahaha. So when my husby's colleague whatsapped me one fine day to ask whther i want to join her bulk order, I did not think twice and order half a dozen to share with my husby. The flavours I got were; 

Nutella Red Velvet

Salted Caramel

Ondeh Ondeh

Pecan Cinnamon

Lemon Meringue Pie

Oreo Milk Chocolate

Yes, all the flavours above cos I cannot make up my mind and I wanted to try them all! Tamak halobah this one :P So I waited patiently for husby to come back from work bearing the beauties. He whatsapped me that he nearly forgot the cupcakes and lucky he did not cos I would have skinned him alive heh. Acah je. Limit2 marah je la.

Anyways, we tried 3 flavours only and kept the rest in the fridge for the next day and let me say my honest opinions on the 3.

Ondeh Ondeh

The one I really wanted to try as I love eating the traditIonal version and I am happy to say that the cupcake version did not disappoint. The cupcake itself is so soft and fluffy, coconut and gula melaka filling has just the right amount of sweetness and the cream topping ... Usually I would scrape away the cream cos I don't like anything dairy except for cheeses but on this cupcake, I gobbled the whole thing up. So nice for what! Even though some of the filling leaked out of the cake and got stuck on the liners, I did not really mind la maybe dorg ter-cored it too deep sampai berlubang ke hahaha. Needless to say, I enjoyed this cupcake thoroughly.

Oreo Milk Chocolate

Very decadent, to decadent in fact for me. The chocolate filling ter-keras cos husby put them in the fridge when he reached home and we only ate them an hour later. Did not really enjoy this cupcake cos it was very sweet for me, too thick(?) No like, too heavy on my palate.

Salted Caramel

The one I was really excited to try but got disappointed in the end cos the whole cupcake was too sweet. The filling, the cream and the drizzle, all were too sweet and I found myself cringing with every bite and after every bite, I downed some plain water.

All 3 cupcakes were crumbly. I thought cupcakes are supposed to be fluffy but these easily pecah2 when we took a bit, causing some mess. Mayb it was because they were left in the box on the my husby's workstation the whole day and we only managed to eat them at night after they were in the fridge for an hour. Mayb that changed their consistency eh.

With that said, 3 down 3 more to go and I can honestly say I am not looking forward to eating them. Takut too sweet!
